Hilton Garden Inn Tunis Carthage will offer upscale and affordable accommodation to travellers staying in Africa’s northernmost country.

Jardins de Carthage, Tunisia – Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the signing of an agreement with L’immobilière Nour El Ain to open Hilton Garden Inn Tunis Carthage, signifying the entry of the award-winning Hilton Garden Inn brand to Tunisia.

Slated to open in 2025, the 170-key property will be situated along the main boulevard of the Gardens of Carthage and is part of a larger development aimed at boosting the area’s tourism offering. Several parks across the street from the property will provide a sense of tranquillity, as will the hotel’s proximity to the Lake of Tunis – a natural lagoon between Tunis and the Mediterranean Sea. The property will be conveniently situated near foreign embassies, the Congress Palace of Tunis, international schools, and the historic ruins of the Carthage Roman Amphitheatre.

Carlos Khneisser, vice president of development, Middle East & Africa, Hilton, said, “We are delighted to announce the signing of Hilton Garden Inn Tunis Carthage, which follows on the heels of Hilton’s debut in Tunisia with the opening of Hilton Skanes Monastir Beach Resort. With three additional properties in the pipeline for Tunisia, this latest signing demonstrates our commitment to this vibrant tourism market and to providing Hilton’s renowned world-class hospitality to guests across the African continent”.

Hilton Garden Inn Tunis Carthage will provide affordable accommodation and thoughtful service through its contemporary guest rooms and world-class amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop restaurant and bar terrace, and a lobby lounge. Business travellers will have access to the hotel’s meeting room space for corporate gatherings and events, while leisure and recreation seekers can workout at the fitness centre or relax at the hotel’s indoor pool.

Alan Roberts, global brand head, Hilton Garden Inn, said, “Hilton Garden Inn has been focused on entering new destinations, and this includes expanding its presence across Africa. We are excited to announce the signing of Hilton Garden Inn Tunis Carthage – our first branded property in Tunisia. It will be an outstanding hotel in a fantastic location that complements our growing portfolio, which now stands at 20 trading and pipeline hotels across Africa. We look forward to delighting guests with our bright service and modern amenities”.

Hilton Garden Inn Tunis Carthage will be conveniently located close to some of Tunis’ most popular tourist spots, including the archaeological site of Carthage, the blue and white clifftop UNESCO Village of Sidi Bou Said, and the atmospheric Medieval winding streets of Medina. Just 11 kilometres from Tunis-Carthage International Airport, the hotel will also be ideal for transiting business travellers.

Ahmed Frikha, chief executive officer, L’immobilière Nour El Ain, said, “We are very happy and honoured to be partnering with Hilton to introduce the first Hilton Garden Inn property to Tunisia. The capital city of Tunisia is the hidden gem of Northern Africa and has so much to offer travellers. We believe that Hilton Garden Inn Tunis Carthage will be well received throughout the region, providing great benefits for local residents through employment and increasing tourism”.

Once open, Hilton Garden Inn Tunis Carthage will join Hilton’s more than 100 properties operating or under development across Africa and the Indian Ocean, including Hilton Garden Inn Umhlanga Arch and Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Mauritius slated to open in 2026.
